At times in our lives, we all become disillusioned. Usually it happens when we expect someone to stand up for us, and they don’t. When we are loyal to another person, I guess we just naturally expect their loyalty in return. Then when we don’t get it, we are devastated, and puzzled. It hurts. There’s just no way to act like it doesn’t.

Sometimes when we think we are weak, we are actually strong. And the ones we thought were strong, are weak.  I see many people that are not willing to face the injustices in the world head on. They are afraid of other people, and it keeps them from standing up for what they know is right. At many times in our lives we are faced with the decision of whether we will stand up or back down.

There are reasons to make peace, but there are also reasons to fight for what is right. To look cruelty and injustice in the face, and say, “I’m not afraid.”

There are people who need you to take a stand against evil. Remember that famous saying about all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. (Or something like that.) Each time we don’t stand up against injustice and cruelty, we lose a little ground. Until one day, we have lost everything. And we might as well cover the mirror, because we will not want to look into the face of cowardice.

The truth is some things are worth fighting for…
